If you were exposed to industrial noise after 1963 these are some of the industries in which noise has been proven to have caused hearing loss:-
- The Textile Industry
- Road Workers
- Ship Building
- Mining
- The Steel Industry
- Heavy Engineering
Normally exposure to noise will have been for about 3 years or more and throughout the duration of your shift. If you have been exposed to loud and excessive noise during the course of your employment and it has caused you to become deaf, you may be able to recover damages even if you suffer from inner ear disease and/or age-related deafness.
A hearing test can be arranged, and the hearing test (known as an audiogram) can show the extent of your deafness and the type of deafness from which you are suffering.
